Ok, so this book gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, I know it has been looked up to for decades, so I knew I would appreciate its distinction in the literary world. But I also think that it gets a little confusing at parts, and sometimes I had to read a page more times than necessary to understand what was going on.
Twain moves swiftly in his stories. For example, one second, the characters in the story are floating on down the river, and the next, they’re in a steamboat, trying to con the passengers. That’s why it’s so vital to pay close attention to detail in this novel. But overall, I like Mark Twain’s style of writing. Now I can say I’ve had the opportunity to appreciate great American literature.
Fortunately, the questions are relatively straightforward. But I like the challenge they present. Make me think, you know? Which is definitely a good thing. Three more books to go…..
